Monday Morning Motivation | Things We Love

We’re disciplined when it comes to things we love.

But the things we dislike, aren’t good at, or see as annoying obligations, not so much.

Having a disdain for certain aspects of practice can be an expensive indulgence.

  • Hating the administrative duties of practice.
  • Detesting the obligation of marketing the practice.
  • Disliking the recruitment or training of staff.
  • Loathing the hoop jumping of insurance carriers.
  • Despising anything dealing with technology.

We have the choice of either eliminating or delegating such tasks (if practical) or choosing to fall in love with such duties. Deciding to become more proficient, even mastering them.

Otherwise, the negative charge you’ve imbued these or similar obligations, is merely a juvenile indulgence and risks producing the off-putting, prideful odor of entitlement.

What so often holds us in bondage is the fear of feeling incompetent, clumsy, or the temporary uncertainty that accompanies growth.

Remember, what we resist, persists.
