Monday Morning Motivation | Keep Chiropractic Weird

A Moment of Clarity from November 26, 2018:
By the time most patients consult a chiropractor, they’ve become disenchanted with the medical solution and are seeking something different.
Are you different? Really different?
Some have the tendency to round off all the sharp edges, blur the distinctions, and minimize chiropractic. Or present chiropractic as “medicine lite,” a form of physical medicine, or a spinal subspecialty.
Apparently this is based on the belief that if chiropractic were more like medicine, it would be more popular, accepted, and respected.
Unlikely.
Remember, chiropractors are the weird ones; rebels. That’s what many patients are expecting. So, to show up beige, mainstream, and kinda “normal” can be a bit disconcerting to a new patient looking for something different from the drug-peddling practitioner down the street.
The best way to be different? Be you. Because everyone else is taken. And even better? No acting, special costumes, or second-guessing yourself are needed.
Keep chiropractic weird.
