Monday Morning Motivation | NP Complaint – Videos
Posted by Bill Esteb on Jun 14th 2025
The 11th most commonly mentioned new patient complaint: patient education videos.
This is personal since I’m responsible for creating seven different generations of patient education videos since 1981. And while there are others providing video-based patient education solutions, there were several recurring themes in the patient comments:
Irrelevant – Many mentioned the video didn’t address their particular issue.
Salesy – The most cynical perceived the video(s) as a poorly disguised sales overture.
Out of date – If there’s even a hint of either issue above, patients look for flaws in the production values, wardrobes, hairstyles, and other non-chiropractic issues.
With the advent of YouTube and the prospect of something more interesting a click away, patient education videos are perceived differently these days. It makes most patients far more critical.
Two suggestions:
1. Update your videos with the latest Patient Media content, and
2. Stream your video(s) on their phone in your reception room.
