Monday Morning Motivation | NP Complaint – Recommendations

The 5th most commonly mentioned new patient complaint: Need for multiple visits.

This was more common than I would have thought. Some saw it as a money grab. Others found the visit frequency too inconvenient.

It may be linked to the myth that “once you go, you have to go for the rest of your life.”

I imagine this may result from neglecting to share a few pieces of information during the onboarding process to properly preframe your recommendations:

1. Healing and retraining the spine is a process and all processes take time.

2. Unlike the constant pressure of braces orthodontists use to effect structural changes, chiropractors rely on repeated visits.

3. Repeated visits create the momentum necessary to overcome muscle atrophy and scar tissue.

Oh, and you’d probably want to explain that their symptoms will improve before the retraining is complete. Discontinuing before their rehabilitation is complete invites a relapse.
