Monday Morning Motivation | Wanting It
Feb 15th 2025
How badly do you want it?
“It” meaning practice success, helping more people, getting out of debt, saving for retirement, improving patient communications, or other aspirational goal.
Desire is a fascinating topic which seems to organize along a continuum between two extremes. Do either of these sound familiar?
Wanting it too much – Often among newer chiropractors, or those with a scarcity mindset, is the burden of wanting it so badly that patients are mistrusted, are seen as a constant flight risk, require micromanagement, which becomes a pervasive “tightness” that is emotionally unsustainable.
In other words: fear.
Not wanting it that much – At the other end of the spectrum are those who have become comfortable, maybe lazy. Consistent procedures have degenerated into suggestions. Patient education has largely evaporated. The path of least resistance has become way too familiar.
In other words: apathy.
Fulfillment comes from pursuing purpose, not desperation or complacency.
