Monday Morning Motivation | Retiring to...

Someday you may think about the notion of retirement.

As I age and the chiropractors I’ve worked with over the last 45 years reach retirement age, succession planning has become a popular topic among those arranging one-hour consulting calls

While every situation is a little different, there’s an important distinction worth mentioning: We know what you’ll be retiring from. But what are you retiring to?

If your answer doesn’t have an equal or greater purpose and significance than practicing, you may want to reconsider.

Because golfing whenever you wish won’t be enough. Spoiling the grandkids won’t either. You’ll quickly tire of watching Fox News all day. And quickly exhaust opportunities for puttering around the house.

Before you withdraw your experience, talent, and wisdom from your community, there are countless ways to rejigger your practice so you can give up the parts you don’t like and keep the parts you do.
