Monday Morning Motivation | Results Aren't Enough

A common self-limiting belief that keeps practices small: Great adjustments and quick results grow practices.

Truth: It often shocks the newest chiropractors when they discover that their high grade point average and clinical awards don't count for much as they attempt to establish and sustain a practice. Unless you're a savant such as a Gonstead, Goodheart, Thompson or Epstein, your adjustments, even if masterfully delivered are mostly a hygiene factor. Poorly conceived and delivered adjustments can work against you, but extraordinary adjustments are, well, expected.

That's not to marginalize the value of a naturally right adjustment delivered with that "something extra." Rather, it's a reminder that all things being equal there are other factors that trump great adjustments and symptomatic improvement.

Projecting deep conviction and profound certainty (such as possessed by those named above) is a great start. Having a personality, adequate social skills and being curious are helpful too.
