Monday Morning Motivation | NP Complaint – Fear
Posted by Bill Esteb on May 31st 2025
The 13th most commonly mentioned new patient complaint: Fear of the unknown.
While there seem to be fewer people who have never been to a chiropractor before, fear of the unknown shows up frequently among many. (Those who have had chiropractic care previously have a different set of issues!)
And no wonder. With the proliferation of YouTube videos showing adjustments that many would consider violent, combined with classic myths and misconceptions, new patients may be understandably wary.
This puts many such patients in an unhelpful fight or flight state.
Neutralize these concerns on the “What to Expect” page of your practice website.
Perhaps you’ll offer two main sections: “If You’re New to Chiropractic” and “If You’ve Received Chiropractic Care Elsewhere.”
In both instances, keep things positive, non-defensive, and avoid taking a cheap shot at other chiropractors.
And what issues should you address? Subjects we’ll be addressing in the upcoming weeks.
