Monday Morning Motivation | New Patient Magic Wand
Posted by Bill Esteb on Dec 14th 2024
Want to buy a new patient magic wand?
Careful!
A magic wand merely treats the symptoms of a lack of new patients. A magic wand (and many popular strategies) will ignore the underlying cause(s). Which there are at least three:
- Poor headspace – Practitioners who are either egotistical or lack self-esteem, a clear identity, unsure of their purpose, are undisciplined, or unsuccessful in hiding a lack of certainty.
- Ineffective systems – Because patients are seen as a flight risk, there is little appetite for consistent procedures surrounding formal reports, patient education, progress exams, and implementing a goodbye procedure.
- Unclear boundaries – A significant limitation is created by spending too much time, assuming responsibilities that belong to patients, caring too much, talking too much, and taking credit (or blame) for the speed of a patient’s recovery.
Thankfully, new patient magic wands aren’t for sale, since treating symptoms is so unchiropractic-like anyway.
