Monday Morning Motivation | Offense or Defense?
Posted by Bill Esteb on Jun 13th 2026
A Moment of Clarity from October 13, 2008:
Are you in growth or defense?
Your practice, like the cells of your body, is in one state or the other.
If it’s slowly eroding, it’s likely you’ve switched from offense to defense.
Cynicism replaces evangelism.
“I’ve earned it” replaces “Let’s build it!”
Once our mindset becomes about protecting what we have, rather than leveraging it to create new possibilities, we’ve switched sides.
We can’t “win” by playing defense.
Don’t fall for the lie that waiting for clarity or the “right time” is the wise thing to do. Wait for the herd and you’ll likely get trampled.
Instead, consult your heart, reawaken your purpose, be decisive, and act.
Now is the time to be bolder and tell the truth more passionately. Think bigger. Plant your flag, take a stand, and ruffle some feathers. Worry less and be more certain. Kick ass and take names. You know the truth. Declare it!
